Attention grabbing classic

Facebook Twitter Pintrest

There are certain things we've come to expect from Goat knitwear; luxury yarns, impeccable quality, beautiful statement buttons; classic wardrobe staples so understated and so reliable we've become accustomed to just letting them have their place and do their thing, season in, season out. But suddenly, with their SS13 offering, we find them clamouring for our attention with a pallette of notice-me colours, bold patterns and great new shapes. We are loving the Onassis button back jumper and that cobalt blue is crying out for a place at the forefront of our spring summer wardrobes.

Best foot forward into Spring

Facebook Twitter Pintrest

We love Hudson for their 'foot forward' approach. Acknowledging trends while giving them their own idiosyncratic twist. This season we have good evidence of that philosophy in action.

Starting with the brilliant Mirar ankle boot - a classic shape, tweaked on the upper and finished in snakeskin. They look great with just about anything, provide a bit of height yet are so comfortable they can be worn all day long. Lucy has finally found her perfect work boot - hurray!

Bolero follows, working the questionable slipper trend. Cast assumptions aside and what you actually find is a perfectly versatile little summer shoe; an ultra feminine silhouette finished in snakeskin or a colourful print for a good measure of Hudson character.

Finally, taking statements one step further is Charlie, a sturdy two-tone lace up brogue. Classic but in no way unoriginal.

Over the moon

Prepare to be excited. This was the big find of Victoria and Lucy's trip to Gallery in Cophenhagen last year and it's like nothing womenswear has ever seen before. A bit out of this world even. But in a really good way. Centrepieces include the sparkly and structural 'Moon Walker' A-line skirt, silver bomber jacket and flouro blazer. A collection inspired by the moonlandings it might be, but no we're not on another planet. Pulled together with floaty silk tops and delicate knits, all pretty peachy pink, it really is sublimely beautiful and wearable.

Here comes colour

Say hello to 0039 Italy and say hello to colour. A welcome additon to the shopfloor in the middle of January, and one that sets the theme for the season ahead. Here we have a great little collection of shirts, tunics and jumpers, and a label growing in confidence; embracing a stronger pallette, turning out a great printed silk and throwing caution to the wind with our favourite fluoro pink.

High fashion gets friendly

Each season our favourite eco fashion pioneers People Tree secure their fashion credentials with the help of a big name designer. For SS13 they've enlisted Danish designer Peter Jensen and we think it has to be their biggest fashion moment yet; a capsule collection of cotton dresses, t-shirts and sweatshirts that are highly wearable, fantastically affordable and unmistakably Jensen.

Spring in winter

Facebook Twitter Pintrest

It might seem crazy and odd, spring arriving in winter, but if you can get your head around it, then there's a lot to love about looking ahead to peeling off those layers. MiH's pre-SS13 collection is just the gentle nudge into the new season we need. Inspired by "the swimming pool blues of the sky" and "inevitable drops of rain as we peer out the window" this earlybird installment features beautiful cotton shirting, loose-fitting cotton/linen vests, boyfriend jeans (we're really excited about) plus a leather jacket and heavy knit to fill in until some warmth returns to the sun.

We promised wonderful things and wonderful things have arrived. In big red hat boxes. Lift the lid and you'll find the results of one rather impressive meeting of millinery minds; Eloise Moody, one of Britain’s most talented milliners and founder of Moody & Farrell, designing exclusively for Christys’. As you might expect, these are hats every bit deserving of their special box; inspired by 60s icons Jane Birkin and Bianca Jagger, based on classic designs with subtle styling and executed in the most beautiful autumnal colours and luxurious wool felt & silk ribbon. Without further hesitation, please admire the Bridget trilby and Ingrid Fedora.
