Ouch. It was an early start for Victoria and Lucy on Friday as they headed off to Paris on their biannual Maison&Objet mission, a day that requires flat shoes, lots of coffee and every reserve of energy. Think eight giant, mobbed halls stuffed with beautiful homewares tugging your attention in every direction. Luckily, after eight years in attendance the pair have it down to a fine art. In and out in four hours with shopping list ticked. The only hitch this time - Lucy's name wasn't on her badge so they wouldn't let her in. Thankfully, Sheridan Coakley of SCP came to the rescue, leaving two and a half hours to complete mission 'quirky gifts and decorations for Christmas'. Not a problem. Much success included traditional German flocked bambis, chocolate umbrellas, Korean chilly bins as well as a gorgeous paper plate range. And there was still time to pop into Merci and Bonton for a nose around.
