Rolling with Baum UND PFERDGARTEN

Facebook Twitter Pintrest

The latest from Baum und Pferdgarten arrives just as Victoria and Lucy return from Copenhagen mightily inspired by the beautiful girls from the Baum show pedalling off in their fabulous outfits. And that's the great thing about this collection. It's a bit rock and roll but you can still get on your bike. There's some petit pieces and some outsize pieces, all oozing the same style and wearability. We're particularly loving the cool colours against the warm textures. Slate blues with highlights of putty pink and acid lime. You'll need to pedal fast.

If you can't quit remember which winter knit you relied on before you discovered Goat's trusty Olive Knit Jacket, you'll be relieved to know it's here again. In classic navy, natural and grey. Perfect for throwing on over almost anything for instant warmth and style. Lucy's loving this season's super luxe buttons.

Never one to shy away from a bold print or heavy texture, Paul & Joe Sister return with tweed, brocade and paisley working their way into another collection of gorgeous dresses, blouses and coats. It's elegant and grown up, girly and romantic all at once. Heaven in a big girl's dressing up box.

Talking About Bellerose

Facebook Twitter Pintrest

We'd been on the look out for a new European label for a while when Bellerose caught our eye. We wanted some of that continental cool but in clothes that didn't feel difficult or daring to wear. Bellerose have got it spot on. These are pieces you can easily layer up with the rest of your wardrobe, but that give an outfit an edge, a talking point even - lurex sweats, quilted sateen lined cardigans, fake fur jackets and best of all - "where did you get those?" sparkly socks!

Acclimatise in style

The latest from Local is enough to prompt a late summer getaway. Beautifully embroidered cotton and silk pieces weather the last of the summer sun in style, slightly crumpled and faded the way we like them. Arrive home with a temptation knit thrown over and the transition couldn't be any easier.

Seeing stars

We're all a bit giddy with the arrival of Chinti & Parker. Lucy's even declaring it her favourite collection of the new season. The perfect cotton basics are all here, as are the cashmere knits, playful stripes and polka dots (though they're blown up this time). The pallette of oatmeal, wintery white and deep navy makes us feel cosy and we're certainly welcoming new textures in heavy flannel and cable knit. But what's getting us really excited are the tiny little stars, trailing their way over the prettiest shirt, skirt and dress.

A Bit Grown Up

Summer was young and lots of fun but we're loving how People Tree has grown up for winter. Not too much though. The shapes are fitted and feminine. The colours, red, white and black. But that's where the serious, ladylike stuff stops and we go playful with polka dots, pretty with bows, edgy with zips and of course friendly with the threads.

Once again Great Plains deliver our hardest working collection of the season. Polished and ladylike, these are skirts, dresses, blouses and knits that negotiate occasions from day to night with ease. Our trusty wide-legged trouser returns for business alongside neat shift dresses, pleated skirts and smart wool coats. Then there's the Rothko stripe pleat skirt and Chanel-esque cropped jacket which both totally belie their very reasonable price tags.
