Autumn is cooking

Facebook Twitter Pintrest

Yes, we've been enjoying these late summer rays but please Autumn, hurry up. We're dreaming of roasts, pies, crumbles and cake baking. Cosy hours spent in the kitchen putting our lovely new Falcon enamelware to good use. We've prep sets, bake sets, plate sets and pie sets stacked high, in traditional white with a blue rim and the all new pigeon grey.

We could talk about Breathless, a lovely low rise velvet skinny in rose and cement. Or perhaps we should mention the beautiful silk seafoam print top and tails shirt. Or the classic surfer check shirt. All mint green, putty and blush pink, softening the move into winter. But no, what we're really busting to tell you about is one, single, truly special, slightly mad silver leather jacket that's sitting all by itself up on the womenswear rails. It's a little bit Bowie, a little bit Erté, but really you just need to see it to know why we had to. Sorry.

Keeps on working

We love Universal Works for their straightforward and honest approach. Founder and designer, David Keyte credits his dad's wardrobe as part of the inspiration behind another great collection of 'traditionally British' and properly modest workwear style pieces. The main focus of our buy is wool tailoring. "It's the miner that gets dressed up to go to town," says Rob. Sums it up perfectly, as you can see.

Rolling with Baum UND PFERDGARTEN

Facebook Twitter Pintrest

The latest from Baum und Pferdgarten arrives just as Victoria and Lucy return from Copenhagen mightily inspired by the beautiful girls from the Baum show pedalling off in their fabulous outfits. And that's the great thing about this collection. It's a bit rock and roll but you can still get on your bike. There's some petit pieces and some outsize pieces, all oozing the same style and wearability. We're particularly loving the cool colours against the warm textures. Slate blues with highlights of putty pink and acid lime. You'll need to pedal fast.

Basics. As good as they can possibly get in our first drop from Sunspel. New for Autumn we've taken items from their jersey range. Super soft loop back hooded sweatshirts and sweatpants. Ideal for working out or lazing about. And let's not forget their classic T. Never will it be bettered.

Snap happy

Just a few of the snaps from our fantastic Lomography workshops which saw our camera enthusiasts hit the streets of Winchester with all the gear and plenty of ideas from Lomography's lovely Mark, Dan and Fay. There was rain and sun and from what we gather, a lot of fun. They even manged to capture Winchester's premier tourist attraction in all its ancient glory. Magnificent work people, big thanks to all who got involved.

Never one to shy away from a bold print or heavy texture, Paul & Joe Sister return with tweed, brocade and paisley working their way into another collection of gorgeous dresses, blouses and coats. It's elegant and grown up, girly and romantic all at once. Heaven in a big girl's dressing up box.

Talking About Bellerose

Facebook Twitter Pintrest

We'd been on the look out for a new European label for a while when Bellerose caught our eye. We wanted some of that continental cool but in clothes that didn't feel difficult or daring to wear. Bellerose have got it spot on. These are pieces you can easily layer up with the rest of your wardrobe, but that give an outfit an edge, a talking point even - lurex sweats, quilted sateen lined cardigans, fake fur jackets and best of all - "where did you get those?" sparkly socks!
